Countdown to MPF: Lynskey Interview

We had the pleasure of catching Lynskey at a Riot Garden show last year and we enjoyed them so much that we had to invite them to this years Manchester Punk Festival. We spoke to front person B and this is what they had to say.

How would you introduce yourselves to a punk fan who’s not heard of you yet?

Two piece dance electro punk about emotions, gender stuff, and Keanu Reeves

Which of your songs/releases are you most proud of, and why?

Honestly our 3rd (as of yet unreleased) EP, it just sounds unreal to us! They’re all our favourite songs and the ones we’ve been playing live the past year.

Released tracks though, “kinda tastes like iron” and it’s video are some of our best work that you can listen/watch right now.

Tell us a secret about your band.

We’re cousins

What was the first gig you ever went to?

We used to go to Womad Festival as kids with our family but I don’t know if I ever so any music there, just went for the rides and the day out I think.

First ever actual gig might’ve been Gary Neuman, where he didn’t play Cars until the encore and in that moment I vowed to never play an encore ever.

Who would be in your supergroup?

Jamie Lenman (Reuben), R.A.P. Ferreira, Frances Quinlan (Hop Along) and Kenny Segal producing the album

If you were a biscuit/cookie, what would you be and why?
