MPF2023 COMEDY STAGE

Manchester Punk Fest are delighted to welcome back the Dead Cat Comedy stage for 2023. You’ll find a roster of cracking comedians at Sandbar on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, compèred by the fabulous Red Redmond and Sully O’Sullivan.

Red curates an exceptional roster of comedians every year, and 2023 is no different. Take a break from the tunes to giggle and grin with the likes of Andrew O’Neill, John Robertson and Jenny Hart.

P.S. Red and fellow performer Eddie French have recently launched a new punk rock podcast, Punk Rock Elite. It dives deep into the world of NOFX to celebrate (and commiserate) the band’s final year.

Here’s a summary of what you can expect.

ANDREW O’NEILL

Andrew O’Neill is an award-winning comedian, punk-rock musician and best-selling writer. A psychedelic non-binary whirlwind, they combine surrealism, polemic and good old-fashioned stagecraft to produce uniquely counter-cultural stand-up.  Andrew has performed in over a dozen different countries, at over a hundred different festivals and is equally at home in rowdy comedy clubs as performing to their own cult following.

JOHN ROBERTSON

International comedy sensation John Robertson is the creator of the viral YouTube gameshow The Dark Room, with over 4 million views. Hot off the heels of the world’s biggest and best comedy festivals. John is a force of nature, a truly unique act that has to be seen to be believed.

RED REDMOND (MC)

Stand-up comedian, compére, drag queen and live-streamer. They were recent tour support for the stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race, including Miss Vanjie and Miz Cracker. They are the proud owner of Manchester Icon: Tram Taylor. Catch them streaming most weekdays on Twitch.
