MPF2024

Manchester Punk Festival will be taking place across Easter weekend, 29-31 March 2024.

We’ll have over 140 acts playing across our 7 venues. Super Early and Early Bird tickets are sold out, so act quick on getting yours.

How we do what we do

MPF is what happens when you sit three different promoters in a pub to discuss starting something where the bands we know and love can play to new people who would appreciate them exactly the same as those who’ve supported them this far. We want to provide an environment where people want to watch bands they’ve never heard of alongside bands they love, and an environment for bands to play in front of their best friends and complete strangers.

We want everyone to feel comfortable and enjoy themselves at MPF, we take a zero-tolerance approach to any form of discrimination. Be good to each other, enjoy the festival and thanks so much for being a part of it. As some guy called Joe once said “without people, we’re nothing.”

We are inundated with requests to play MPF which, although flattering, means we can’t reply to everybody. We all run this festival in our spare time so feel free to drop a message, but please don’t be offended if we don’t get back to you. The roster of bands we work with is built from the ground up. If your band is active, gigging, and contributing to, the UK DIY punk rock community then we’ll know of you sooner or later!

We work with loads of great designers each year. Here is who we’ve worked with for MPF2024.

The MPF2024 bee collage design is by Jack from Get A Real Job Kid.
The MPF2024 Owl design is by Mark Bell

Venues

These are the venues that we are using for MPF2024. All our venues are within walking distance of each other and play a great part in the live music scene in Manchester.

The running order for all stages is subject to change. Please check the running times posted at each stage on the day for the actual slot times. Although, we will try to stick to the published times and tell people though Twitter and Facebook of any changes.

Each stage has a set capacity. Once this is reached we will not be able to let anyone else in. This is particularly important for the more popular bands on the line-up. Please make sure you arrive early to the stage to ensure you get access.

The Union

The Union is home of our main stage for MPF2023. Wristband Exchange is also at The Union, it'll be your first stop. Alongside loads of awesome bands you will also be able to pick up merchandise and visit the record store.

Accessibility: The whole venue is on the ground floor, with all rooms accessible.

Capacity: 800

Age restriction: 14+

Gorilla

Located underneath the railway arches, Gorilla is one of the cities best music venues. Even though it's one of our largest, it always feel intimate in there. The venue entrance is found to the side under the railway arch.

Accessibility: Fully accessible venue. To avoid stairs you will need to use a different entrance. Please speak to door staff. Seating is available, although this is upstairs.

The Bread Shed

Catch bands through the day and late into the night. The Bread Shed hosts one of our main stages as well as an after show party!

Accessibility: The venue is fully accessible. There is some seating available at the side of the room.

Capacity: 450

Age restriction: 14+ (18+ afterparties)

REBELLION

Rebellion is one of Manchester's best live venues. It is an afterparty venue for MPF2023 and will be open all three nights of the festival. Make sure you get there early!

Accessibility: There is step-free access to the venue with a viewing area to the side of the stage. Due to ongoing issues with emergency Network Rail repairs, the corridor to the toilets is currently at a reduced width (71cm). The venue is working on resolving this issue. There is a lot of seating towards the back of Rebellion although with a poor view of the stage and up a couple of steps.

Capacity: 450

Age restriction: 18+

Zombie Shack

Many people's favourite venue at MPF and the only venue we've used every single year of MPF. Accessibility: Zombie Shack is accessed via a spiral staircase. Inside there are a couple of seats available on one side of the venue.

Capacity: 140

Age restriction: 18+

YES

We added YES to our MPF venues in 2022. On Friday we'll take over the Basement venue before moving out of the basement and in to The Pink Room upstairs on the Saturday and Sunday to increase capacity for the 'Almost Acoustic' stage. YES is a 3-minute walk from Zombie Shack and on the way to The Bread Shed and The Union down Oxford Road!

Accessibility: Both rooms are fully accessible by lift. For any questions or enquiries, please contact the venue directly by emailing info@yes-manchester.com

Sandbar was the new home of Comedy, Poetry and Podcasts in 2022 and we're returning for MPF2023. Across the road from The Bread Shed, it is also a great place to grab a pizza or take a break in the Manchester sun.

Accessibility: This venue has steps at the entrance. Lots of seating available.

Capacity: 75

Age restriction: 14+

Accessibility

Manchester Punk Festival is organised across several city centre venues. We are aware that two of our venues do not provide full accessibility, especially for those people who may struggle to use stairs. Unfortunately, the viable venues available to us in the centre of Manchester limit our options. Every year we look to using newer venues with increased accessibility to make MPF more comfortable and welcoming for all. Although we continue to reassess and consider how to make the festival more accessible to all people in the future, we recognise that having access to just some of the performances would be restrictive and disappointing.

Because of this, we would like to offer a discounted ticket to people who will experience some restrictions due to accessibility issues. To enquire about a discounted ticket, or if you have any questions about access at any of the venues, please message the facebook page or email info [@] tnsrecords.co.uk

Please get in touch if you require any additional venue accessibility information.
